Collection of inaugural documents and souvenirs from the inauguration of President William Howard Taft, March 4th, 1909. Octavo, [45pp]. Quarter blue morocco, marbled boards, title in gilt on spine. Floral endpapers. Occasional notes from the recipient of the invitation, with note about attendance. From the private collection of Ambrose Swasey, a mechanical engineer and founder of the Warner & Swasey Company, which built telescopes. He was a benefactor of President Taft and donated large sums to Case Western Reserve University in the 1920s. His bookplate is affixed to the front endpaper. A unique collection of documents and ephemera.
