Octavo, xxviii, [4], 781pp, [3]. Blue cloth, title in gilt on spine, swastika on front cover. Text in German. Text is clean and solid. Offsetting to endpapers. Includes half-title and frontispiece portrait of Adolf Hitler. (Pastore 018e)
In the publisher’s fourth state Volksausgabe dust jacket, in use from 1933-1943, chipping along edges, closed tear to front panel with tape repairs, scarce in this condition. (Pastore 016)
This copy is a unique variant, likely due to wartime production shortages. The cloth boards are identical to the first state Volksausgabe Edition, first published in 1930, with the old style Franktur font on the spine. The Franktur font was largely abandoned by 1942. The title page is printed in Antiqua font, which began with the 1939 edition of Mein Kampf.
