Description

Inscribed by Senator Tom Eagleton, the first edition of Not Exactly a Crime by Richard Curtis and Maggie Wells.

Oblong octavo, xii, 202pp. Blue and red cloth, title in silver on spine. Stated “First printing, 1972” on copyright page. Solid text block, lightly worn corners, a near fine example. In the publisher’s dust jacket, $4.95 retail price on front flap, soiling to covers, wear to corners, split to rear panel with tape remnants to verso, a good example. Signed on the front free endpaper “with appreciation for his efforts on our behalf – and with best wishes from Tom Eagleton U.S. Senator 1972.”

Thomas Francis Eagleton (1929-2007) served as U.S. Senator from Missouri from 1968 to 1987. Eagleton was briefly the vice-presidential nominee under Democratic leader George McGovern in 1972; the same year as this book’s publication.
