The first edition of Notes on the Rebel Invasion of Maryland and Pennsylvania and the Battle of Gettysburg by Michael Jacobs, one of the earliest accounts of the battle, published in 1864.
Twelvemo, iv, [5]-47pp, [4]. Pebbled brown cloth, title stamped in gilt on cover. Includes the “Battle Field of Gettysburg” folding map, produced in color, in near fine condition, solid hinges, and bright illustrations. Dampstain affecting rear panel, rear pastedown, and the final 10 leaves of text. Previous ownership inscription on front endpapers.
