Solid text block in both volumes. Frontispiece portrait with tissue cover in each volume, some transference to tissue and title page. Philip Henry Sheridan (1831-1888) served as a Union General during the Civil War and was notable for his close relationship with General-in-Chief Ulysses S. Grant.
