Octavo, [2], 317pp, [3]. Red hardcover, title in gilt on black cloth spine. Stated “First Edition” on copyright page. Slight lean to text block, touch of wear to corners, a near fine example. Previous ownership bookplate on front pastedown. In the publisher’s first state dust jacket, $3.50 retail price on front flap, small losses to corners and head of spine. Faint staining along spine and rear cover, primarily visible on verso. Two short closed tears repaired with archival tissue.
