Linda McCartney (1941-1998) was an American photographer, musician, and animal rights activist. She gained recognition as a rock and roll photographer before marrying Paul McCartney of The Beatles in 1969. She was a member of the band Wings and contributed vocals and keyboard. An advocate for vegetarianism, she founded Linda McCartney Foods, a line of vegetarian products. She published several photography books and was known for her portraits of musicians. She passed away from breast cancer in 1998.
