From the collection of William Safire, a first edition of The Age of Discontinuity by Peter F. Drucker.
Octavo, xiii, 394pp. Black cloth, title stamped in gilt on spine. Stated “first edition” on copyright page. In publisher’s near fine dust jacket, price clipped, faint shelf wear, a bright example. Book appears largely unread. Signed by William Safire on front free endpaper.
William Safire was a Pulitzer Prize-winning conservative columnist for The New York Times. He was a frequent guest on Meet The Press, describing himself as the voice of “libertarian conservatives.” Before joining The New York Times, Safire served as a presidential speechwriter for President Richard Nixon and Vice President Spiro Agnew.
