Harold Alexander, 1st Earl Alexander of Tunis (1891-1969) was a senior British Army Officer, who served with distinction during World War I and World War II. During WWII, he oversaw the allied evacuation of Dunkirk, then was assigned to field commands in Burma, North Africa and Italy. In later life, he would become the Governor General of Canada.
