This scarce work by John Sanderson was first printed in the United States in 1838, with the title “Sketches Of Paris: In Familiar Letters to His Friends by An American Gentleman.” It was published by E.L. Carey of Philadelphia. It is a collection of letters and travel reflections of a teacher and writer, John Sanderson, who traveled specifically to Havre and Paris. The work was later translated into French by Jules Janin. (Sabin 76405)
