In the publisher’s dust jacket, $3.00 retail price on front flap, short closed tear to top edge. Small point of restoration to top edge of spine, reinforced with tape on verso. (Blockson 4752)

Includes a bookplate signed by Gwendolyn Brooks affixed to the front free endpaper.

Gwendolyn Brooks (1917-2000), a renowned author, was the first African American to receive a Pulitzer Prize. Her book of poetry, Annie Allen, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry on May 1, 1950.
