Faint dampstain to top quarter of front cover, no impact to text block. Fraying to head of spine. Front hinge and front free endpaper reinforced with archival repair. The first edition of The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County, and Other Sketches was printed in 1867 by Charles Henry Webb. It was Mark Twain’s first book, being a collection of 27 short stories, originally published in magazines and newspapers.
