Boris Johnson (b. 1964) served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2019 to 2022, a member of the Conservative Party. Before becoming prime minister, he was Mayor of London (2008–2016) and Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (2015–2023). He led the UK through Brexit, finalizing its withdrawal from the European Union in 2020, and managed the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. His tenure was marked by controversies, including the Partygate scandal, which contributed to his resignation in 2022. He was succeeded by Liz Truss and later left Parliament in 2023.
