Stated “first edition” on copyright page. Clean endpapers, clean text, solid text block. In scarce dust jacket, chipping at edges, missing top edge of rear panel, light toning to spine. A scarce work by President Warren G. Harding’s first director of the Bureau of the Budget. The Bureau of the Budget would become the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in the Nixon administration.

Charles G. Dawes was the 30th Vice President of the United States under President Calvin Coolidge and Ambassador to Great Britain under President Herbert Hoover.
