Description
The first edition, first printing of The Mars Project by Wernher Von Braun. This copy is from the library of Dr. James W. Fitzgibbon, who along with Buckminster Fuller, designed geodesic domes, critical to human exploration of mars.
Octavo, [6], 91pp, [3]. Beige paper boards, title printed in black on spine, technical illustrations on the front board. The first printing, with no additional printings noted. Faint foxing to title page, otherwise a clean copy. Light toning along top quarter of boards, rubbing to lower tips. In the publisher’s dust jacket, price clipped, chipping along top edge, some loss on front panel, a few closed tears, a very good example of this scarce jacket.
James Walter Fitzgibbon (1915-1985) was an American architect and educator, noted for his innovations in geodesic architecture.
