A collection of engravings from British Painters, in this work titled The New Gallery of British Art. Quarto, [two volumes]. Full leather, title in gilt on spine and cover of each volume, raised bands, embossed illustrations on covers. Touch of wear to covers, limited to bottom edge of spine. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Complete with 61 full page illustrations with tissue covers in Volume I and 60 in Volume II. All plates are clean. An exceptional collection of works from British Artists.
Comments: This work was released in 1882 by subscription from D. Appleton and Company. It was completed by the publisher in 40 parts and sold for 50 cents each.
