Held in custom acetate dust wrapper. An exceptional copy.

    Daniel Ammen (1820-1898) was an Ohio-born naval officer that served during the Civil War. Ammen joined the navy as a Midshipman in 1836. During his long career, he was promoted several times, retiring in 1878 from his position as Chief of the Bureau of Navigation, with the title of Rear Admiral.
