Orville Wright (1871-1948), together with his brother Wilbur, was an American aviation pioneer credited with inventing, building, and flying the world’s first successful motor-operated airplane. They made their first powered flight on December 17, 1903, near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Orville worked with Fred C. Kelly on this book, reviewing the manuscript and enhancing the historical account.
