Signed on the front free endpaper by Brig. Gen. Chuck Yeager, who contributed the foreword. Signed by the author opposite the title page. Additional signature of aviation pioneer Paul H. Poberezny on the rear endpaper, dated 1992.
Clarence Emil “Bud” Anderson (1922-2024) was a U.S. Air Force colonel and World War II triple ace credited with more than 16 enemy aircraft destroyed while flying P-51 Mustangs nicknamed Old Crow with the 357th Fighter Group of the Eighth Air Force in Europe. Anderson flew 116 combat missions from 1943 to 1945 without being hit by enemy fire, later serving as a test pilot and commanding fighter units during the Cold War.
