In 1997, Ken Burns and Dayton Duncan co-produced the television documentary Lewis & Clark: The Journey of the Corps of Discovery for PBS. Stephen Ambrose consulted on the project, after the successful release of this work on Lewis and Clarke. A companion piece to the PBS series was written by Dayton Duncan titled Lewis & Clark: An Illustrated History.
