Small octavo, 58pp. Patterned paper-covered boards, title on front cover and spine. No additional printings listed. In the publisher’s dust jacket, $1.00 retail price on front flap, a few small stains to bottom edge and rear panel.

Signed by Leo Tolstoy’s youngest daughter on the front free endpaper: “Dear Mr. — : When Leo Tolstoy – my father was asked which of his works he considered the best? He answered: “What Men Live by.” / Alexandra Tolstoy / Oct. 27, 1963.” A nice copy with a wonderful inscription from Tolstoy’s daughter, secretary, and executor.
