Major General William Gaulbert Weaver (1888-1970) was a distinguished U.S. Army officer whose military career spanned both World Wars. A 1912 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Weaver earned the Silver Star for his gallantry during World War I, notably for directing machine-gun fire under heavy enemy attack near Cierges, France. In World War II, he served as Assistant Division Commander of the 90th Infantry Division and later commanded the 8th Infantry Division.
