Description

First edition of Fugitives: The Story of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker by Emma Parker and Nell Barrow Cowan.

Small octavo, iv, 255pp. Red cloth, title in black on front cover and spine. Stated “First Printing, September, 1934” on copyright page. Free of marks or notations, solid text block, light dust along top of text block, a bright near fine example. In the publisher’s dust jacket, price-clipped, sunning to spine, closed tear along front hinge, light soiling to panels, a very good example of this scarce jacket.

Fugitives tells the story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow from firsthand accounts by Parker’s mother, Emma, and Barrow’s sister, Nell. Bonnie and Clyde were an infamous duo, known for their robberies and murders committed during the Great Depression, leading to their eventual demise in May 1934.
