Octavo, 327pp. Full gray cloth, title in black on spine. Scribner’s “A” and Scribner’s seal appear on copyright page, indicating first printing. Includes the “magneta roses” error, which was corrected too “magenta roses” (p. 263, line 35) for the second issue. Slight lean to text block, light sunning to head and tail of spine. Previous ownership bookplate affixed to front endpaper. A near fine copy. In the publisher’s first state dust jacket, $3.50 retail price on front flap, touch of sunning to spine.
