An excellent example.
On June 7, 1965, Congressman Gerald R. Ford and his co-author, John R. Stiles, greeted his constituents in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. They were signing copies of this book, three days before it’s public release date of June 10, 1965. There were four separate signing events around Grand Rapids on June 7th, including a book shop, the Pantlind Ballroom, Wurzburg’s Department Store and Steketee’s Book Department. The Governor of Michigan, George Romney, also received a signed copy of the book at a Kent County Republican Fundraiser the same afternoon.
