Octavo, [20 Volumes]. Green cloth, title printed on label affixed to to spine. In publishers original green paper dust jackets, title printed in black on spine, initials “TR” in red on side panel. Top edge gilt. Books are housed in the original wood shipping crate from 1927, with “Roosevelt – National Edition – Scribner’s New York” printed on the side panel. Original shipping address with stamps on wood panel. Crate was shipped to an individual in Brockton, Mass. Books have never been read and many have never been removed from the crate. Books retain original printers ink smell. An incredible example of this historical set.
Comments: Theodore Roosevelt served as the 26th President of the United States. He was a prolific author, writing more than 18 books during his lifetime, beginning with “The Naval War of 1812” in 1882. His other notable works include The Winning of the West, African Game Trails, and The Rough Riders.
