Small quarto, 177pp, [3]. Softcover, title in black on front cover and spine. Solid text block, light wear to corners and edges of covers. Internally fine. Text printed in French. Complete with 15 full-page lithographs: two in black-and-white, four fold-outs, and nine in color, including the paper covers and title page. Original color lithographs printed by Mourlot Freres.
This is the second issue, lacking the pink coloration in the floral bouquet in the first illustrated plate. Additionally decorated with black-and-white and color photographs reproduced by Hervochon, M. Routhier, and Draeger. A near fine example.
Marc Chagall (1887-1985) was a Russian and French artist, and member of the École de Paris art movement. Chagall was engaged with a wide range of media, including painting, drawing, stained glass, ceramics, tapestries, and more.
