Octavo, [two volume], xii, [2], 466pp [2pp ads]; [6], 398pp [2pp ads]. Green cloth, title in gilt on spines, front covers stamped in gilt with illustration of a man and a camel. Brown endpapers. Stated “‘Second Edition” on title page. All illustrations present, including frontispiece portrait, 1 fold-out map of Arabia, and 4 plans (map has 3-inch closed tear near fold). Text blocks cracked in multiple places but holding. Spine ends and edges rubbed and lightly worn, lower corners bumped. Tear to pages 263/264 in Volume I. Bookplate and name label of previous owners on front pastedown endpapers.
