Twelvemo, [6], 74pp. Three quarter red morocco, marbled boards, title in gilt on spine, raised bands and decorative inlays. Marbled endpapers. Previous owners bookplate affixed to front endpaper. Light wear to edges of boards. Stated “Eighth Impression” on copyright page, originally published in 1909. Signed by author and naturalist John Muir on front free endpaper in black ink.
Comments: John Muir was the father of the conservation movement in the early 20th Century, with his work focusing on the California Wilderness and specifically Yosemite National Park. Stickeen: An Adventure with a Dog and a Glacier was a short memoir written by Muir in 1897, while on a trip to Alaska. It is one of Muir’s best known writings and a classic dog story.
