(Sabin 20822) (Howes D465) (Thomson Ohio, 346)

An interesting first edition piece, which details the history of the Cincinnati area. It is the first study of the geology of the western Ohio Valley, with special attention given to “elephant fossils” at Big Bone Lick (later discovered to be Mammoths). It also details Indian mounds within Cincinnati proper. An important book on the early Ohio country and Cincinnati in particular.
