In publisher’s dust jacket, retail price on front flap, some soiling, chipping to edges, retail price on front flap. Occasional pencil marks. Inscribed by Bergman on the front endpaper, dated October 30, 1942 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC.
Comments: Alfred Bergman was a banker, businessman and self-publicist. He wrote under the pen name of Peter Markham. This work “reeked of insider information,” due to Bergman’s contacts with numerous European governments and high level diplomats.
