Comments: First published in 1938, Arms and The Covenant is a collection of articles by future Prime Minister Winston Churchill detailing the United Kingdom’s lack of military preparedness against the rising threat from Nazi Germany. It would later be reprinted in the United States as While England Slept: A Survey of World Affairs, 1932-1938. It would inspire the first book by President John F. Kennedy, titled Why England Slept.
