    Inscribed copy of The Autobiography of Henry Walbridge Dudley, signed by the author. Octavo, 189pp. Blue cloth, title in gilt on cover, title on label affixed to spine. An ex-library copy, donated to the State of Illinois. Frontispiece portraits of Dudley and his mother, both with tissue covers. Complete with battlefield maps and illustrations. Evidence of library mark on spine. Donation bookplate on front endpaper, signed by the author. Inscription on front free endpaper: “Presented to the “Loyal Legion” of Chicago, Ill by The Author. June 14th, 1914.”

    Comments: Henry Walbridge Dudley was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, being one of the first children of settlers in the city. Dudley enlisted in the Chicago Battery of the 1st Regiment (Light Infantry, Battery A). He served for 4 years before returning to the private sector.
