    Folio, 85pp, [13]. Black leather with teal paper boards, title in gilt on spine, gilt ruling on covers. Stated “Copy No. 49” of 100 on tipped-in limitation page. Illustrated map endpapers, photo gelatine reproductions with frontispiece and tissue cover. Solid text block, clean pages, a fine example. Light wear to corners, held in an acetate wrapper. Inscribed by John Stewart Bryan.

    U.S. Navy Midshipman John Randolph Bryan (1806-1887) sailed aboard the vessels Peacock, United States, and Delaware during his career.

    John Stewart Bryan (1871-1944), John Randolph Bryan’s grandson, was a Richmond, Virginia newspaper publisher and president of the College of William and Mary from 1934-1942.
