William Hudson Henry (1841-1922) was an author and naturalist who focused on ornithology. Henry had dual citizenship between Argentina and England, and he published nonfiction works based on his observations in both countries. In addition to his naturalist works Henry also wrote novels set in various South American countries like Venezuela, Uruguay, and Argentina. Henry’s affinity for nature and his immersive writing served as inspiration for many well-known authors like Ernest Hemingway; Henry’s novel The Purple Land is referenced in The Sun Also Rises.
