While best remembered for his classic novella The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince), Saint-Exupéry was an aviator and member of the French Air Force. This book, originally titled Pilote de Guerre, recounts Saint-Exupéry’s experience during the Battle of France in 1940. This work received the prestigious Grand Prix Littéraire de l’Aéro-Club de France, awarded to notable members of the aviation community.
