Signed copy of Georgius Agricola De Re Metallica by Herbert Hoover and Lou Henry Hoover. Folio, [iv], xxxi, 640pp. White vellum boards, title in black on spine, light toning to spine. Cracking to front joint, top corner bumped. Uncut, clean pages. From a limited edition printing of 3000 copies, not numbered. This copy is inscribed by President Hoover to Ralph Lomen, a businessman from Washington state. Letters of correspondence between Lomen and President Hoover are also present, with additional signatures.
Comments: De Re Metallica was originally published in Latin in 1556. It was first translated into English by Herbert Hoover (future President) and his wife, Lou Henry Hoover. An incredible association copy in excellent condition.
