Solid text block, top edge dyed red, illustrated endpapers with maps of the Guadalcanal and Solomon Islands, a touch of wear at spine, a near fine example. In the publisher’s dust jacket, price-clipped, shelf wear, rubbing to spine, bright illustrations. Inscription on half-title reads: “To Ray Lillie – good luck – and best wishes – Dick Tregaskis.”
Richard Tregaskis (1916-1973) was a journalist and author, best known for this book about Guadalcanal. It would later be turned into a movie of the same name.
