Description
From the United States Office of War Information, a collection of 30 propaganda leaflets warning Japanese citizens of impending bombing raids.
Each pamphlet individually numbered by the Office of War Information, text in Japanese. Each pamphlet is stapled to a piece of white paper, many with the Japanese text translated to English. Many of the leaflets were known as “LeMay leaflets,” which were dropped on a city ahead of a bombing raid and urged the citizens to leave the area. Other leaflets warned of the Soviet invasion in August 1945 and the surrender of the Japanese emperor, before it was made public.
