In publisher’s scarce slipcase, very good condition, some wear at seams, stable but delicate hinges, bright illustrations. Signed by the author in Volume I, with the following inscription: “Who reads my book visits my mind. Thanks for your visit. Robert McElroy. Oxford. October, 1937.”
Professor Robert McElroy was a prominent historian at Princeton University, known for this work on Jefferson Davis and Grover Cleveland: The Man and the Statesman. His work on Cleveland was the first full-length biography of the former president.
