Morrison’s review is printed on the front flap of the dust jacket, where she calls the novel: “A majestic narrative concept.”
Juneteenth, Ralph Ellison’s second novel, was published posthumously. It was assembled from countless notes left by Ellison upon his death in 1994. He is best remembered for his first novel, Invisible Man, which won the National Book Award for Fiction in 1953.
