Octavo, [16pp]. Illustrated wrappers, previously folded along center line. Faint foxing to rear cover. This is the first issue of “The Montgomery Story,” with copper plated staples, no blemish above the right shoulder of King on front cover, no ink splatter in blank spaces, and muted blue and green images. This copy of Martin Luther King and The Montgomery Story was held by the Murphy Darden Black History Museum, then sold at auction in 2024 (Epic Auctions, Lot 248).
The original print run was for 250,000 copies in English and another 150,000 in Spanish. The comic was reprinted in 2011 and 2013, using scans of the original issue.
