First edition in book form of Master Humphrey’s Clock by Charles Dickens, complete in three volumes.
Large octavo, [three volumes], iv, 306pp; iv, 306pp; vi, 426pp. Rebound in three-quarter leather with brown cloth boards. Title in gilt on spines. New green endpapers. Edges worn, some rubbing and small stains to cloth covers. Light wear along hinges of all volumes, text blocks solid. Occasional spotting, text is clean overall. A very good set. Features woodcut frontispieces in all three volumes, with additional in-text illustrations by George Cattermole and Hablot Browne.

This work includes the stories of The Old Curiosity Shop and Barnaby Rudge, as well as an appearance by Mr. Pickwick.Master Humphrey’s Clock was originally published in four formats: “In 88 weekly parts; 20 monthly parts; the three-volume edition, and the issue in separately bound volumes of the two stories” (Eckel 62) The full serials ran from April 4, 1840, through November 27, 1841.
