Inscribed by the author on the title page: “For Vice President George Bush, a great American, with admiration and gratitude and the hope that we have contributed to a better understanding of what the Cuban DGI, acting on behalf of the KGB, is doing to our great country. Arnaud de Borchgrave.” Provenance: from the Kennebunkport Public Library in 2019, who acquired numerous books from the Kennebunkport Estate of former President George H.W. Bush.

The author of this book, Arnaud de Borchgrave, was the editor-in-chief of The Washington Times and a lifelong foreign correspondent. He was a conservative journalist, with close ties to the CIA in the 1970s and then the Reagan administration in the 1980s.
