Description

The first edition of Old Chicago by Mary Bradley Hastings, the four volume history of Chicago, published in 1933.

Twelvemo, [four volumes]. All bound in red cloth, title printed on label affixed to the spine and front cover of each volume. Illustrated endpapers. Each volume with light dust remnants along top of text block. Scuff to front endpaper of The Fort. Lacking the publisher’s slipcase. In the publisher’s dust jackets, faint sunning to the spines, a few closed tears, all very good examples, with illustrations by E.C. Caswell.

This work is from the Old City Fiction Series and includes the following four volumes: The Fort: When Chicago Was the Frontier, The Duel: When Chicago Was a Town, Debt of Honor: When Chicago Became a City, and Metropolis: Chicago in the Eyes of the World.
