Octavo, 5pp, [iv], [1]-268pp. Publisher’s original brown cloth, stamped in blind on covers, title stamped on spine. Solid text block, light foxing to endpapers, occasional toning to text. Light rubbing to cloth, wear to outer hinges. This later issue, from the summer of 1860, contains an advertisement for The Poets and Poetry of the West by Wm. T. Coggeshall, a “line” over the printers card on copyright page, and lacks the “2” on page 17. Previous owner’s name written in pencil on front free endpaper, otherwise free of marginalia.
