Signed copy of Red Tail, a book about the Commemorative Air Force’s Red Tail Project, which utilizes a restored P-51C Mustang to celebrate the lives and achievements of Tuskegee Airmen who flew in World War II.

Oblong octavo, [40pp]. Red cloth, title stamped in black on front cover. No additional printings noted. Solid text block, a fine example. In the publisher’s dust jacket, vibrant images, a fine example. Signed by Tuskegee Airman Colonel Charles E. McGee on bookplate at front of volume.

Colonel Charles McGee (1919-2022) flew a combined 409 combat missions in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam; among the most in service history. McGee graduated from flight training at Tuskegee Airfield in 1943 and served with various fighter groups until he retired in 1973. He received the Congressional Gold Medal in 2007 and was inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame in 2011.
