In the publisher’s dust jacket, $8.95 retail price on front flap, shelf worn, with a faint damp stain on verso. A very good example.
Inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper: “Ruth + Ira Julian, Joy! Maya Angelou / 6/25/81.”
Ruth Julian (1907-2004) and her husband, Ira, were lifelong art collectors. Following their passing, major works from the Julian collection were donated to the Ackland Art Museum, Guilford College, and Elon University.
