Octavo, xvi, [2], 460pp. Gray cloth, gilt title over blue on spine and front cover. Light toning to spine, shelf wear to cloth on back panel. In publisher’s first state dust jacket, with $5.95 price on front flap, chipping along bottom edge, closed tears with archival repairs to verso, a very good example. Inscribed on the front free endpaper: “To Doris Jones, who as “girl Friday” for Bob Finch made such a great contribution to our cause during the battles of 1960 and 1962 – from Richard Nixon.”
Doris J. Jones was the longtime Executive Assistant to Robert H. Finch, who served as the the 8th United States Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare (1969-1970), Counselor to President Nixon (1970-1972), and Lt. Governor of California under Ronald Reagan.
