Octavo, vi, 360pp. Full blue cloth, title in gilt on front cover and spine. Stated “First Edition” on copyright page. This is one of two text block variants, with the “Y” of Doubleday aligning with the “T” of Garden City on the title page. No priority is given between the two variants. Solid text block, rubbing to cloth, worn corners, sunned spine. Previous ownership inscription on front endpaper. Lacking the publisher’s dust jacket. A very good copy.
